I woke up exhausted this morning at 6:15am. I haven’t been getting enough sleep lately especially with all of this training I’ve been doing. I know that it’s bad, but I’m working on it. This is all of us this morning starting out on our 3 hour ride. It originally was supposed to be 40 miles, but we changed the route due to the fact that some of us have road bikes, and we ran into some gravel roads.
We ran into this odd looking thing on one of the trails that we were on. It was an old gallows. For those of you who don’t know what a gallows is, it is the structure that towns used to hang people (and yes, there is an s at the end). Crazy!!! The sign below it was in German, so I don’t know the specifics on this particular gallows.
Some cows relaxing…
Overall the ride was nice, but I really needed a high quality workout session, and this was not it! The Koln tri, the one a week away, is only like a 12-15 mile ride, so I’m not that worried about the endurance part. I did, however, want to work on my speed. Don’t get me wrong, the riders were great, but not everyone had the same types of bikes nor did they all know how to shift efficiently when climbing the hills. That is fine for a leisurely ride, but if I want to be faster I need to make sure that I ride with people at my same level or maybe a little faster. Maybe the Hubby and I will go out on a ride this weekend where we don’t have to worry about waiting for anyone else.
I know this omelet looks nasty, but it looked oh so good before I mangled it with my fork! We were starving when we got home, and I was craving an omelet with bacon and toast. So, that is what we had! The omelet contained 2 whole eggs, green onions, tomatoes, Italian cheeses, and avocado. Yum!
I have been trying to download my lectures from school, and there has been a problem with the server for hours! School started on Monday, and I’m already behind! Eeeek!
Afterwards, a brownie (made with apple sauce instead of oil) and some skim milk. A great ending to a great day! Good night!!
