Almost there! – Geek Turned Athlete

Almost there!

I will be leaving in about an hour and a half to Cologne or Koln.  It is spelled both ways here.  I still have yet to pack.  I’m a procrastinator, I know!

Breakfast was so beautiful this morning, I had to take a picture of it:

Oatmeal with pb, strawberries, 1/2 banana, and flax seed.  It was amazing!

I just got back from an awesome 2 hour yoga class.  We did a lot of holding planks, some fast moves, some slow moves, and a lot of holding other poses in the first hour.  I didn’t want to tire out my shoulders for the swim tomorrow, so I held every other plank instead of all of them.  I tried not to push myself, but it is hard when you are in a huge class.  I get so competitive.  I know you are not supposed to be that way in yoga, but I can’t help it!  My arms are already sore!  For the second hour we did A LOT of stretching, lied in savasana, and then meditated (for ten minutes!).  I love meditating, and I really want to work on getting that in on an almost daily basis.  I just don’t know where to start yet.  I just ordered a yoga book in the mail.  When it comes in, I’ll talk more about it!

It has been raining for a few hours now, and it is actually cold here in Germany.  I wasn’t quite ready for the summer to end!!!  It’s 57 degrees, and it’s 1pm already!

I was starving when I got home and used some of the chicken from last night in with a salad.  I also warmed up some of my Parmesan Basil grits from last night.  mmmmm….DSC02382

Well, I have to pack for my triathlon tomorrow!!!!  I will post my race report when I get back from Koln.   We are planning on driving up there today, spending the night, racing, then driving to Bernkastel Kues for a wine festival, then heading home!  I should have a race report up by Sunday morning (Germany time!) Have a great weekend!
