Breaky:
This morning, I was very reluctant to leave the warmth of my living room couch to venture out into the foggy coldness… But I did.
My legs felt great when I started out, but then I hit the first hill. I thought to myself, Why don’t you just turned around? It’s cold, you can barely see anything, and you can’t breathe because of the humidity. I didn’t feel like I could keep running… But I did.
At mile 2.5, I hit another monster hill (the 3rd one so far on the route) with loose rocks. I did feel like I could run up the hill because my quads and hamstrings were quivering BAD… But I did.
For lunch, I wanted a huge bowl of mac and cheese and a million cookies (PMS cravings, I suspect). I didn’t want to make myself a healthy lunch…But I did.
This afternoon, I was in a zone trying to study and did not feel like lifting weights and going to yoga class…But I did.
During yoga, after holding the bridge pose for the third time for what seemed like an hour, I didn’t feel like I could hold it any longer because my quads were screaming at me…But I did.
Do you ever have to just tell your body to do something even though it may not want to do what it is being told? I really believe that the difference between staying at the same fitness level and improving is pushing yourself past what you think would be your limits. I tried to do that today! And you know what, I don’t regret any of it!!!
Here was din din:
Beef tenderloin marinated in balsamic vinegar, salt, and pepper with half of a huge sweet potato topped with cinnamon and yogurt butter spread with steamed broccoli sprinkled with Italian cheeses. It was so good!!
Sweet Dreams, everyone!!!
