I started my morning off with this:
It was so easy! I slathered it on some toast.
Baked Eggs with Parmesan
- 2 eggs
- Sea salt and cracked pepper
- freshly grated parmesan cheese
All you have to do is preheat an oven to 400 degrees F. Then, crack the eggs into an oven safe ramekin, and sprinkle with salt and pepper. Place the ramekin in a baking dish, and then add hot water around the ramekin until it reaches the level of the eggs.
Bake for 10 minutes or to your liking. Take out of the oven and sprinkle with parmesan. Enjoy! Makes 1 serving.
After my wonderful breakfast, I worked on school stuff until about 2pm, and then headed to the gym. I really think that I am coming down with something. My head felt heavy, my throat hurts, and my body felt tired all day long.
Then, I received an email from my hubby that is getting passed around the base. It stated:
September 23, 2009
The Department of State alerts U.S. citizens that Al Qaeda has threatened it will conduct terrorist attacks in Germany immediately prior to and following the federal elections on September 27. This Travel Alert expires on November 11, 2009. Al Qaeda recently released a video specifically warning Germany of attacks. German authorities are taking the threat seriously and have taken measures to enhance the level of security throughout the country. The Department of State urges U.S. citizens to maintain good security practices at all times, and to maintain a heightened situational awareness and a low profile. Americans are advised to monitor news reports and consider the level of security present when visiting public places or choosing hotels, restaurants, and entertainment and recreation venues.
Well, this is the life of a military spouse, I guess. When we first moved over here, I was really weirded out by all of these warnings, but now they have become common place. I am not over exaggerating when I say that we get a warning similar to this once every few months.
Life must go on. The gym was really uneventful except for the fact that I felt like I was going to pass out. I was on the elliptical for an hour and was just really tired. It took all of my energy to get through that hour. I felt so weak! I can’t be getting sick, I can’t be getting sick, I can’t be getting sick!!
I really love using those machines, and have missed them dearly. Before I started getting my workouts done outside (running and biking), I was a total gym rat. I have decided that I’m going to workout how I want to for the next few weeks, and take a break from triathlon stuff. Plus, my ankle has been bothering me for quite a while now, and I haven’t had a week off from running to let it heal. So, no running for week. I’m really not that excited about this, but if I want to be able to train for next year’s tri/running season, I need to let my body heal from this season!!
After the gym, I made some dinner. This consisted of garlic and ginger rubbed salmon with brown rice and asparagus. The ginger was a little too much on the salmon, and I ended up scraping it off. The asparagus was made by boiling/steaming it in water and white wine and a bed of orange slices. LOVELY!
Well guys, I’ve got some studying to do for my Group Fitness Instructor class coming up on Saturday. I’m only about half way through the study guide. Yikes!!!
Can anyone relate to the military warnings???
