This picture was taken this morning around 9am. I just took some Benadryl so hopefully some of the swelling and redness will go away. I wanted to run today, but I talked to one of my nurse friends, and she just said to go home, take a Benadryl, and rest. NO running. I AM going to yoga tonight though.
I have a half marathon that I really haven’t been training for on Saturday on Ramstein AFB. It is a last minute thing that a couple of my friends decided to do a couple of weeks ago (I don’t recommend doing this if you are new to running or if your mileage is less than 15 miles a week!!). It should be fun. I have never really run a race without being nervous about getting a good time before, so this should be great – a “glorified” training run. No pressure at all!!! We are going to take it slow, and talk the whole time. 🙂
I have only ran once this week so far (the 10 miler on Monday). I am in limbo right now between workout programs. It is pretty much the off season for triathlon right now in Germany, and I don’t have any more races scheduled for this year. The pool is closed so there is no swimming going on this week either, and spin class doesn’t start up until I’m in the states for our wedding. I feel so weird being without a training schedule. I almost feel “naked” without one! I need to find a half marathon or a marathon that will take place sometime in the winter here. The winters are nasty, so I don’t think that will happen. 🙂 Oh, well. I do need to make sure that I can fit into my wedding dress in October, so I need to make a training plan for myself soon. I am planning on having one made by the beginning of next week for off season triathlon training. Yay! I’m actually really excited about racing next year! I feel like I’ve grown so much this year in my athletism, and I can’t wait to see how next year will go!
For the rest of this week, I have this planned (in my head):
- Wednesday: yoga
- Thursday: bike into base, 5-6 mile run, weight lift
- Friday: bike into base, 3 mile run
- Saturday: 13.1 miles
