Steve and I headed to the gym this morning for another hard workout. We lifted some weights, and I got in a mini 20 min stairstepper session. I love being able to workout on vacation!!
Since I live in Germany, we don’t have Chobani yogurt available at the stores. I have been seeing this yogurt all over the blog world, and I was so excited to try it while I was in the states. I’m sorry to say this, but I’m really not impressed. Maybe it is because I’m used to the full fat version of a Greek yogurt that I eat in Germany, or I don’t know. It has a powdery weird aftertaste.
I have to say that it tastes much better when it is mixed with other things than by itself. I mixed in some organic blueberry flax granola, raspberries, and blueberries. It was okay. The granola is really what saved it.
Steve was gone again today with work on the farm, so I was left to clean, work on hw, and cleaning AGAIN. Boring stuff, but it all needs to get done even if we are on “vacation.”
Here are some pics of the place where we are staying:
There is a cute little creek right next to the house…
It is our friend’s parents’ place. They are so sweet for letting us stay here to save on hotel costs. We will be moving to a hotel next Friday though.
I got really fed up with being stuck inside the whole day, so I decided to venture out for a run. It was beautiful out!! The leaves are starting to change colors! I hope that they are really colorful for my wedding next week!!!!
I ran into this park right by the house…
I was seriously stalking ducks for the entire run! They are so cute! They tried to swim away from me, but I just caught them on the other side! Mooohaha!

It was getting pretty hot out there, and my legs were starting to give out from my 2 days in a row of weight lifting. I was tempted!
I didn’t have a place to put the key, so I just put one of my shoes laces through it, and tucked it into my shoe. I didn’t even know it was there for the entire run!
When I got to the house, I had only gone 2 and a half miles. My legs were so heavy from the weights from this morning, but I turned on a side street and ran uphill. This hill was gradual, and if my legs were not so dead I really think that I would have been fine. I was literally telling my legs, You can do it! Move!! It sucked, but I really wanted to run, and my legs just had to deal with it. They did…slowly.
When I got home, I stretched for about 15 afterwards. It felt so good!!!
When Steve got home, we headed out to Men’s Warehouse to look for some ties that would match my bridesmaids dresses. This whole thing with the ties has been one big pain in the butt. I finally found the ones that we wanted and that matched. We had to wait an hour to order 6 ties. Ridiculous!
We also stopped at ROSS to pick out some red dresses for our Red Dress Run this weekend! I will explain what it is about later!
This is totally unrelated, but I also wanted to let you all know that Allison at EatCleanLiveGreen is giving away free all natural cleaning products!! I got my undergrad degree in environmental science, and I LOVE what she is promoting!!
What do you all do to workout on vacation?

Thanks for linking back!
Sounds like an amazing vacation! I always try to go for runs on vacation – it’s an easy travel workout, because all you have to bring is shoes!

Great idea for your key! I always wonder what to do when I don’t have shorts on with a little pocket!
I love running on vacation! It is such a great way to get out and see the place where you are staying and explore! Going early in the morning makes it feel like I am in on somekind of secret too! Very Adventurous!
