Okay, so I have no idea what I was worried about regarding my dress!!! I FINALLY got to try it on today for the first time at our wedding planner’s place, and all is well. I even have about a 1/2 inch to spare. Plus, they have to take it in more for the chest. I really wasn’t surprised about the chest part. I don’t have gigantic boobs. The only thing crappy: I ordered the dress length to accommodate a 3 inch heel, and it is so short that I have to wear slippers with it!!!! No heels at all!!! I don’t know what happened to my measurements, but the length got screwed up somewhere! It is too late to order another dress, so I’m stuck with it. I do plan on calling the dress shop to complain, but I can’t worry about it now. We are less than two weeks ‘till W day. If you want to read about why I’m getting married again, click here.
I was so happy about being able to fit into my dress at the wedding planners shop that we immediately stopped for Starbucks afterward. We needed a celebratory Pumpkin Spice Latte w/ whip cream plus a piece of lemon pound cake. mmmmmmm. I ate the pound cake in a minute flat, so all you have is a pic of the bag. Sorry.
A very happy girl with so much weight lifted off my shoulders because of the dress!!!!
After the wedding planner, we had to go and pay Classic Event Rentals for tablecloths, chairs, and other misc stuff for our Rehearsal dinner. Then, we had to meet “Uncle John,” a friend’s uncle, who is letting us have our rehearsal dinner on his farm property complete with bonfires and a pig roast. We met at a great little place called Stoney Knob Cafe. It had some awesome decor.
For lunch, I ordered the Panini Michaelangelo with a side salad.
Although the veggies in the salad were sparse, I really enjoyed the house Greek dressing and the greens. I feel like I really haven’t been eating enough greens lately because we have been traveling.
I was so full still from my pound cake, latte, and salad that I was only able to finish 2/3 of a half of the sandwich. The leftovers are going to be great as dinner!!
Aside from the food being great, I really liked this place because their to-go containers were made of a recycled paper product instead of plastic.
Steve and Uncle John. Yes, I’m aware that my husband looks like a lumberjack… He LOVES that jacket, by the way.
After lunch, we had to pay the porta-potty guy for our rehearsal dinner. Our rehearsal dinner is really going to be out there! Porta-potties are expensive, by the way. $125 per a unit with a sink. These were very basic too!
Then, we went to pick out cupcakes for our rehearsal dinner at this place called The Sisters McMullen Bakery. They have amazing artisan cupcakes, pastries, sandwiches, and coffees there.
Steve picked out a cream horn for the road.
After that, we drove over to the gym to get our two week membership, and stopped at really cool beer and wine place called Appalachian Vintner. They have free wine/beer tastings on Wednesdays and Saturdays. We might be back Saturday after next!! We got some pecan ale which does not have a bitter taste at all. It is smooth the whole way down.
After the beer and wine place, we were off to Ingles to order our sides for the rehearsal dinner. We plan on roasting a 200 pound pig, and having huge bonfire. It is going to be awesome!! Well, we had a packed day, and we are exhausted! A little bit of snuggling on the couch w/ my hubby is in order along with a chocolate cupcake w/ peanut butter buttercream icing and a pecan ale!!
I hope everyone is having a great day! I know I did!!
