Wedding Weekend Recap Part 3: Biltmore Wedding Ceremony

by Nicole on November 11, 2009

There are a ton of pics, so I have split this whole series up into 5 pieces.  Here are the other recaps just in case you have missed them so far: Part 1: Girls Night Out and Pampering, Part 2: Rehearsal Dinner.  Part 4 will contain pics from the reception and Part 5 will contain professional pics (I have still yet to see them!  I’m so excited!).  Thank you to all of my fam and friends who have emailed me these pics!!

We needed to take our pics before the ceremony while the sun was still out.  Steve and I did not have a problem seeing each other before the ceremony.  Our wedding planner staged a “presenting ceremony” which was basically just Steve and I getting to see each other in a little area for the first time that day for about 10 minutes before the pics.  This is me on my way to see him.  I was so nervous!  I wanted him to think that I was gorgeous, and I was so worried that he wouldn’t like the dress.  He loved it!DSC_0261

After the presenting ceremony, the wedding party loaded up into a shuttle, and headed to the Biltmore House for pics.  This individual pic of the Biltmore was actually shot the day before by my mom during her tour.P1010004

We were freezing (35-40 degrees F with 20 mile/hour winds)!!  Can you tell??  And we all have tights underneath our gowns!P1010016

P1010020People who were touring the Biltmore were stopping and taking pictures of us.  Gwenn, our wedding planner, kept telling us that they thought Steve and I were famous, and that is why they kept taking pics!  They asked some of the groomsmen if they could take pics with them.  I think it was the kilts! It was crazy!!!  haha

We actually had a string trio behind the bushes on the right.  Can you see them?  DSC_0273

Do you also notice that there is no tent?  The weather (although cold) had cleared up for the most part that day, but they didn’t have time to take the tent down.  The Biltmore usually does not allow weddings in this area any more, but they made an exception since we did not want the tent!!  It ended up being a much better area to get married than the original location! We had pictures afterward too.  This is a pic of my mom, grandma, and me.  I love them so much!!  This wedding was so beautiful!  It was honestly the wedding of my dreams!  I’m so lucky that Steve chose me to marry (He says the same thing about me :) )  This wedding was unbelieveable, we were so happy that most of our friends and family were able to attend.  Stay tuned for Part 4: The Biltmore Reception!!  We partied it up!!
