Did you miss Part 1 or Part 2? Check them out!! Just in case you are tuning in for the first time, I’m recapping the hub’s and my honeymoon cycling through Tuscany.
After lunch, we cycled up to this cute little village…

Every day, our tour guides/bike mechanics said we had to stop for G.O.D. That is: Gelato of the Day. The hubs and I including our riding group weren’t about to argue with that.

With flavors like: chocolate hazelnut, amaretto, pistachio, pine nut vanilla, and espresso caramel, who could resist?

After our long bike ride (~50 miles) on the third day, we made it to our second 5-star hotel (where our bags were waiting for us in our hotel rooms) that happened to be right across from the beach.

Please don’t think I’m bragging. I still feel like our honeymoon was a dream. We usually don’t travel this extravagantly, but it was our honeymoon. Plus, my husband had just gotten back from being deployed. And… we were moving back to the states a few weeks later.

Yes, that is a bruise on my right thigh. I have no idea where I got it. Nor did I care at the time. The hubs and I were just excited to get some sun since we didn’t see it much living in Germany!!!

Just some more pics of our hotel…

Dinner that night was up to us. We ended up going out with some other riders of our group, and it was wonderful, of course. We were in Tuscany. We never had a bad meal.
Then it was off to bed by 9:30pm. After riding for 3 days already, we were exhausted.
Have you ever been to Italy? Do you want to go?
Up next: getting lost in the a marketplace by the beach and more food porn.

My parents are in Italy right now for 10 days! So jealous!
I did a semester abroad in college and we took a group trip to Venice and Florence. Venice was too touristy for me, but I loved Florence. We rented bikes
and toured Tuscany. It was fantastic, and the best way to see the countryside in my opinion.
Not to mention the 2 Euro bottles of wine were amazing!
Oh goodness, don’t even remind me about the 2 euro bottles of wine!! I miss that the most about living in Europe. Wine ran like water, and it was cheap AND tasted great!!
Oh I love Tuscanny! THe beautiful flowers, fields, and lots of good GELATO!!
I recently found your blog, and love your Italy posts! My husband and I spent a month backpacking around the country for our honeymoon a few years ago. We didn’t get to do much biking, but we did spend ten days hiking across the Dolomites. It was spectacular.
Love the pics! This looks like such an awesome trip!
I LOVE Italy. We went on our honeymoon there too in the summer of 2008. We stayed in the south – Sorrento and Amalfi. (Where we definitely ate gelato every day at 4pm, haha). I’d love to go back and even do a bike tour like you did. What a great way to see the countryside!
Your honeymoon looks so lovely – and fun! My bf and I are going to Italy on a cruise in a few weeks (on his R & R) – so excited, but have never been. We have day long stops in Naples and Rome and have one shore excursion planned to hike Mt. Vesuvius and see Pompei.
These might get you excited then:

and it just hit me that I never did a part 2 including Pompei!! Wow! Thanks for the reminder.
Wow! Looks like you had a fabulous time. I have always wanted to go to Italy. Definitely not bragging- thank you for sharing your adventure!
Your honeymoon sounds like it was absolutely perfect. I’ve never been to Italy, but my hubby and I would both love to go in the near future! G.O.D. sounds like an absolute necessity!
I love all of your pictures! I sooooo want to go to Italy! Maybe on my honeymoon… (o:
