Why yes I am!! The only time I straighten mine is when i go to the salon to get it colored! I’m way too lazy to straighten it on my own.

Oh man Nicole, I have been waiting to comment on your 1/2 IM for a while now and finally figured out what I wanted to say…

You are hardcore and a bada$$. You had a crappy race. Now it is time to focus on how you can take that experience and make improvements so you can get ready for that Ironman. Here is what I see:
    1. You need to train more on the swim. You also need to look at making sure your wetsuit fits well. Your exhaustion could be the result of both of these items.
    2. Make a list before the race to make sure you have everything you need, both in transition and on your bike :).
    3. You did the right thing by focusing during your run. Your run time was pretty solid and without a doubt the bright spot in your race. I would say, great job.
    4. I have to admit to laughing really, really hard at your dog poo experience. That was really one of a kind.

Nicole you had a tough lead up to the race. With the changing of continents and all, your training wasn’t as consistent as it could have been leading up to the race. You can do this. You have some great speed on the run, and with continued training you will pound your current PR into the ground, leaving mercy on the side of the road with the old man who didn’t want to run with you. :)

I completely agree on all the items above. I know now, that if, no wait, when we PCS again, it probably won’t be wise to schedule a race soon after. I’m taking a month off from all things tri related b/c quite frankly, I need a break from tri stress. I mostly think this was a result of my move as well. I think after the month, I should be ready to get down to business including working on my swimming stroke! I know I can cut that time down. Thanks for writing. Your comments are always helpful, and I’m not one to waste constructive criticism when I see it!

Good call. Take a month off and just relax. I hope you got your foot and your dashboard cleaned up!
