Hey guys!! This is my last post about our cycling trip in Tuscany that we took last summer. If you are interested in more posts about our trip, here you go:

We followed this route during our weeklong trip…

Our last couple days of cycling were sooooo sad! Although my bum was happy to have a cycling break in the near future, I didn’t want our adventures to end.
We might have covered about 50 miles this day…

We stopped at a cemetery to use the bathroom. It was pretty frightening…

We ran into a village celebration…

<

Sorry for the sideways filming. My husband likes to take vertical pics and films that way as well…

I love the fountains all over the place…

Finally back after a hard day of riding…
Now for the last day. Tear…

geeks
…

Our last day was only 25 miles round trip, so we explored a few villages…

VERY FRESH FISH!!

And the whole group was lost…

We ended up finding our way though.
I have no idea why the hubs took a picture of my scratching my butt..

After our last bike ride, we decided to explore the organic wine vineyards…

Only I would opt for a hike in flip flops. Ouch, ouch, ouch! Dang scratchy weeds!

Showered and ready for appetizers…

Our guides were hilarious and SO helpful. I wanted to take them home with us!

Time for dinner.

I guess I got really into the dinner b/c the pics stopped here. haha. I CAN tell you, it was good.
Overall, if you are looking for a vacation you WILL remember for the rest of your life, this is the way to go. I’m not going to say this vaca was cheap, but it was SO worth it. We had a great time, and you better believe that there will be another cycling vaca in our future. It was a great honeymoon for sure. love you, honey!

What an absolutely spectacular time you had!
To be honest, cycling through Provence has been a long-time dream of mine (blame it on the Peter Mayle boks). But I’m such a disaster on the bike. I don’t know why – but I’m incredibly inefficient. Even my ever-optimist sporty co-worker has given up on me. And that takes a lot! lol
But that only makes me want to figure it out on my own!

This is so funny, I was watching Anthony Bourdain last night and he went to Tuscany and I totally thought of your trip! He ate a lot of sheeps cheese. I know you don’t do dairy but did your husband enjoy the cheeses?
Nicole February 1, 2011 at 2:31 pm
Oh he did! And I did too. My stomach wasn’t very happy with me, but the cheese was sooo freaking good!!

Wow, what gorgeous pictures! Italy is one of the places I would love to visit at some point in time.

Sooo jealous. I would love, love, love to ride through Europe like that. I know you lived there, but still, I think this was one of those once in a lifetime experiences. I turn 40 this year and my wife asked me what I wanted as a gift and I told her a trip to the TdF with my buddy Curt.
Keep your fingers crossed for me…

That bathroom is the scariest thing ever. I love the pictures from Italy. I feel like I’m there. Can’t wait to read more.

Great trip report! I’m newly married and we were looking into this same trip. Our only concern is how good the bikes are? We’ve both had fit issues and are looking for a trip with higher end bikes. What are the bike specs?

Oh goodness. I don’t remember, but they are definitely heavier than my road bike at home. You have a choice to use a hybrid or a road bike. We chose the road bike. It handled well, and honestly, even though we kept a great pace on them, you don’t want to go too fast. You want to enjoy the scenery. That is what you are paying for. Have fun!!!!
