Hello guys!! I’m blogging live from Fitbloggin this weekend. We are having a blast. After flying in Thursday night, I had dinner with Julie, one of my roomies, and then went back to the hotel room to answer emails to wait for Anne. We are just party animals, aren’t we? Haha
Well, yesterday was the first official day of the conference, and we started it off with a 5K fun run. Anne and I ran together. The stomach was still bothering me, so although we stayed up in front, it was not a good run for me. I’m glad that I at least got it out of the way! 😉
Then, breakfast with Attune foods and a Q and A session. I wasn’t that familiar with the Attune brand before yesterday, but I loved listening to the CEO’s point of view of food and our society.
- Artificial Sweeteners: More sweet foods lead to a desire for more sweet foods.
- Endurance Gels/Chews: You only need to use these if you are exercising for more than 60-90 minutes. So many people are eating these things during a 5K. YOU DON’T NEED TO DO THAT!
- Carb loading: When do we really need to carb load??? If we do, we need to keep in mind that we don’t necessarily need to take in more calories especially if we are tapering. Lunch should be the largest meal before a race, not dinner.
I was impressed that they had a gluten free station and fresh berries. 😉
New Balance supplied us all with brand new shoes.
And new running capris!! They are so freaking cute and comfortable. I wore them all day yesterday!!
The swag was great last year, but it is better this year for sure. The New Balance gear definitely put it over the top.
We have been using these little things called Pokens. You just “poke” someone else’s and you automatically get all their contact info including their website, twitter handle, and email address along with a timeline of when you met them. Cool, huh?
After breakfast, we headed off to Fitness Challenges with Cathe Friedrich. I love her. I worked out to her in college on FitTV.
After that was lunch, then a few panel discussions. Then cocktail hour with the roomies!! I actually got to dress up which NEVER happens. 😉
If you are at fitbloggin, please come up and say hi to me. I promise, I’m nice! 😉
