Night Before Portland Marathon

by Nicole on October 8, 2011

Well, it is finally the night before the Portland Marathon for me. I’m trying not be nervous for this “training run,” but I can’t help it!! Dinner with my husband and triathlon club definitely helped ease some anxiety.

I could not believe how much crap I had out for this run. Whatever happened to the days where people would just run with their sneakers and a pair of shorts?? Geez!!

  • Swifts hat
  • running shoes
  • socks
  • timing chip
  • nutrition
  • arm sleeves
  • shorts or 3/4 length pants (I’m not sure about the weather)
  • sweatshirt and rain jacket to wear on the way to start — It is supposed to rain tomorrow. ;(
  • body glide (rain= chafing)
  • sunglasses
  • headphones
  • garmin

Goals: I just want to finish under 4 hours. With this last pelvic muscle injury, I don’t want to push it too hard especially considering my Ironman is in a month and a half. I don’t want to be re-injured. That would suck. A lot.

Anyway, good luck to anyone else running tomorrow!! Here we go!!
