CDA Polar Bear Plunge 2012

by Nicole on January 2, 2012

Happy New Year!! This year, some friends and I decided to start the New Year off with a run on the trails by our house and an exhilarating dip in the CDA lake in Idaho with a few hundred other equally crazy people.

After some muffins and coffee at my house, we headed out to the lake! The temperature outside was in the low 30′s, and the temperature of the lake was 35 degrees.

It was freezing outside to begin with. We had to mentally prepare ourselves to strip down to get into the ice cold water!

Apparently, I didn’t get the memo about Team Blaze outfits. Oops.

Let the screaming begin…

Live your life to the fullest. Don’t take anything for granted. It is going to be a great year, I know it! ;)

Holy cow! That looks freezing. Glad you survived. I would definitely be on the same boat as your husband.

Wow! Looks freezing. But a polar bear plunge (of some sort) is definitely something that I want to try at some point in my life! Hooray for you!

Polar bear plunges are ridiculous and crazy but so awesome. We used to do a post-swim practice Christmas Eve one,but the water was never 35 degrees — brrrrrr!
