I’m Alive!

I’m Alive!

Is anyone even out there still? Crickets.

Wow. A month and a half (lets be honest, almost 2 months) is pretty much the longest I’ve gone without blogging since I’ve had this thing. Life has been a little hectic as usual. Work has been a little overbearing, and that combined with Ironman training and home renovations had me busy as hell. I really don’t know how people with kids and a day job can train for Ironman. I know it is possible, but the way my time is being used now, I can’t even imagine!

I actually tried to blog a few weeks ago and wrote a really good post about being on a triathlon team. It took me 3 hours. Then, ecto decided to erase it before I could publish. I got pissed off and discouraged, bought MacJournal, and have been putting off using it for the first time until today.

ANEEEEWAY!!! After I wrote than gung-ho post about the triathlon season starting, I came down with strep throat that didn’t go away with regular antibiotics which meant that I got a nice shot in the butt with more antibiotics and some more to take in the pill form.

Then, we had some fam in town which was awesome. The hubby’s family members crack me up because most of them have never seen snow fall. It snowed while they were here, and they were appreciative of every little snow flake. That is what you get when you live in Florida though. I’m wishing I lived in Florida too right now! It snowed four days ago in Spokane. Isn’t it supposed to be spring?

What does this mean for my cycling? Lot’s of indoor rides…still.

Lots of bundling up to go running! And some treadmill running.

And killer pool sessions with my team–which is never a bad thing!

The hubs and I also made time for a date…at the shooting range. This wasn’t my first choice, trust me, but the hubs insisted and so we went. It turned out to be pretty fun! A great way to take the stress that exercising could not take away.

We would pick body areas to aim at instead of always aiming at the center or the head and try to see how close we could get. It turns out that my aim isn’t too terribly bad. Who knew?

The past few weeks have been incredibly stressful, and I’m proud to announce that I am on vacation now. I flew into Albuquerque Friday night, and I will be here for 10 days. I met my new baby nephew (two months old) yesterday morning. So freaking cute.

I’m hoping to get in some much needed family time, training, and rest! Oh, and work on my tan! I think I blinded one of my teammates this week during TRX when I decided to wear shorts for the first time since last summer. It will be in the 70’s to 80’s over here all week. Yippie!

I’m off for more guacamole and seeeester time! ;)

Do you ever go to the shooting range? Would you ever think about it as a date? Is it snowing anywhere else? Tell me, so I don’t feel alone! lol
